Doodle Project II is a collaboration between 44 animators and several cutting edge musicians and sound designers spanning the whole world. The project is created by Dante Zaballa.
There is a method of collective word or images assembling called exquisite corpse. It is also called “exquisite cadaver”. The term originally comes from French “cadavre exquis”. This technique supposes that every participant adds the result to the sequence taking into consideration certain rule. For example, he is only allowed to see the end of the previous contribution.
This exact “exquisite corpse” method has been used in the sound animation experiment called Doodle Project II. Each animator connected the beginning of the own animation with the last frames of the previous two seconds.
Concatenated animations form whirling/swirling progression of individual yet intimately connected mini-masterpieces.
Animators and musicians from 15 countries contributed to Doodle Project II: Argentina, Brazil, Estonia, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, Poland, Russia, Romania, South Africa, Sweden, UK, USA, Venezuela.
There were also two Russian animators amongst participants: Olesya Shchukina and Max Litnov, which is also known as KClogg. He has also contributed to Doodle Project II as a musician.
