Huawei brings the new experience to its users by introducing new foldable smart phone at MWC 2019. Looking very scientific and technological, the new Mate X shows that the future is here.

Several videos were posted on Instagram which showcase the new technology. You can fold the phone and it automatically switches to different screen modes. If you flip the phone while folded, the back side screen will be activated. Very simple to use.

The new Huawei Mate X features:

  • Falcon Wing Mechanical Hinge
  • 7nm multi-mode modem chipset Balong 5000
  • high-capacity 4500 mAh battery
  • 55 W HUAWEI SuperCharge
  • Interstellar Blue finish
  • 6.6-inch screen when folded
  • 6.38-inch backside screen when folded
  • 8-inch screen slim tablet screen when unfolded
  • 512GB storage
  • 8GB of RAM

The Huawei Mate X will cost about €2,299 which is about $2,600 and £2,000.

Official release date is not set worldwide, but is said to be approximately June, July or August 2019 in UK.

The main competitor of Huawei Mate X, Samsung Galaxy Fold still has got such benefits as glass screen opposed to Mate X’s plastic screen. The foldable plastic screens tend to be less scratch-resistant.

Another thing is that Galaxy Fold looks hardier. On the other hand, there are no bezels on the Huawei which is a step forward.

One more cool thing about the Mate X is that it can save a battery if you use the backside screen. The display is OLED which opposed to LED display doesn’t need to fire up all the pixel on the matrix.

Still, there is some room to improve the Mate X. The version that was introduced at MWC 2019 is not the final variant.
